304 stainless steel body, 10 mm tempered glass wing and top lid, connects to any access control system.
Description
What the GL A1 is good at
The GL A1 covers the range of users that a standard speed gate passage width cannot accommodate: wheelchair users, people with pushchairs, and passengers moving through with oversized luggage. A wing width of up to 900 mm handles all of these without a separate accessible entrance alongside. The motorised drive opens and closes at a pace that is safe for people moving slowly, which makes the GL A1 the right choice for airport exit lanes and accessibility routes where the visitor profile includes people who cannot move at a normal walking pace. It is also widely used as a retail exit gate for checkout lanes where the priority is directing outbound flow rather than controlling metered entry. The 1.5 to 2.0 second open and close cycle is not suited to high-speed single-person metering.
Security & safety
Electronic torque control monitors the wing throughout the full stroke and reverses immediately if resistance is detected, so the wing cannot close on anyone in the passage. Tailgating and reverse-direction attempts generate an audible and visual alarm. On fire alarm the wing opens automatically in the direction configured by dip switch and holds open until the alarm clears. On power loss the wing can be pushed open manually in either direction, keeping the passage clear.
User experience
The cylindrical 230 mm body takes up less visual space than a rectangular cabinet and sits naturally in open reception and airport environments. RGB LED indicators under the top lid show passage status and direction. Proximity type RF readers can be mounted under the standard top lid without an external bracket. Operation modes including bi-directional controlled, entry-controlled exit-free, and full free passage are configurable via dip switch or iOS and Android app without any rewiring.
Integration & customisation
Connects to any access control system via dry contact as standard, with RS485 and TCP/IP available as options. Compatible credential types include RFID, QR, face recognition, fingerprint and remote control. Body available in 304 stainless steel standard, 316 grade for demanding environments, or alternative finishes including mirror black and bronze. Top lid optionally available in stainless steel or natural granite. Wing width configurable from 550 to 900 mm. All past configuration changes are stored on the server and can be retrieved, which simplifies multi-site management.
Durability & environment
Designed for indoor use, rated for -20 to +55 degrees Celsius and up to 95 percent humidity non-condensing. Rated for continuous 7/24 operation, which covers airport terminals and any facility running around the clock. 316 stainless steel available for pool-side or other high-humidity environments.
