Wide-passage speed gate for grocery shops and premium lobbies
The GT-250 reaches 1200 mm passage width, matching standard fire-egress lane requirements without a separate accessibility gate.
Gatech-developed planetary motor drive, 0.1-second cycle, 55 persons per minute.
Optional microwave anti-theft module for grocery and retail entrances.
Description
What the GT-250 is good at
At 1200 mm passage width the GT-250 covers the full range of users in a single lane, from wheelchair users and people with shopping trolleys to staff moving equipment, without routing anyone to a separate gate. It is also worth being direct about the security trade-off at this width: two people can theoretically walk through side by side, and the longer arms give a determined tailgater slightly more time to slip through compared to a narrower gate. That said, the gate still enforces one authorisation per cycle, which means no one gets in alone without help from someone already inside. In practice this makes unauthorised entry a two-person problem, which is considerably easier to investigate on camera than a single person slipping through undetected.
Security & safety
Tailgating sensitivity is adjustable from a warning alert to forced arm closure, configurable to the risk profile of the site. Anti-pinch protection reverses the arm on contact throughout the full stroke. For grocery and retail installations, an optional Gatech-developed microwave sensor module detects a second body in the lane and forces the arms closed regardless of an active access signal. On power cut or fire alarm the arms open automatically and hold open until the condition clears.
User experience
A 1200 mm lane is wide enough for a shopping trolley, a double pushchair or a wheelchair with a carer alongside, without any of them needing to use a separate route. The planetary motor keeps operation quiet even under the heavier load of the wider arm configuration, and 55 persons per minute means the gate does not become the bottleneck at peak hours. Exit is handled by infrared sensors, so outbound traffic flows freely without credentials or button presses.
Integration & customisation
Connects to any access control system over dry contact or RS485. Reader mounts accept Mifare, EM, BLE, QR and biometric modules in any combination. Frame available in virtually any RAL powder coat colour, with logo printing on the glass arms as an option. The microwave anti-theft module is a separate option for retail installations.
Durability & environment
The planetary motor drive delivers more torque than conventional motor designs and is better suited to the higher mechanical load of wide-lane arm configurations over a high cycle count. IP54, rated for -20 to +55 degrees Celsius and up to 95 percent humidity non-condensing. 15-million-cycle service life.
