Description
What makes a flap gate different
In a swing-arm speed gate the closing signal can only be sent once the person has fully cleared the open arms, otherwise the arms close onto them. A flap gate like the HG 02 works differently: the arms retract vertically, so the closing signal can be sent the moment the person crosses the arm line. That difference is small in normal use but meaningful when tailgating prevention is the priority, because the window of opportunity for a second person to slip through is measurably shorter. This makes the HG 02 worth considering in entrances where swing-arm gates at maximum sensitivity still produce more tailgating events than acceptable.
Security & safety
Tailgating and reverse-direction attempts generate an audible and visual alarm. Electronic torque control monitors the arm throughout the closing stroke and reverses immediately if resistance is detected, protecting anyone in the passage. On power loss the internal battery opens the arms automatically so the passage stays clear without manual intervention. On fire alarm the arms open and hold open until the alarm is manually reset.
User experience
RGB LED strips run under the top lid and along the glass arms, showing passage status in colour across the full height of the gate. The arms retract completely on opening so the visual impression is of a fully open corridor, with nothing at shoulder or hip height. Proximity type RF readers can be mounted under the standard glass top cover without an external bracket. Operation modes including bi-directional controlled, free passage and one-direction configurations are selectable via dip switch.
Integration & customisation
Connects to any access control system via dry contact as standard, with RS485 and TCP/IP available as options. Compatible with RFID, QR, face recognition, fingerprint and remote control credential types. Body available in 304 stainless steel standard or 316 grade for corrosive environments. Top lid and outer body materials are optionally available in alternative finishes including mirror black and bronze.
Durability & environment
Designed for indoor use, rated for -20 to +55 degrees Celsius and up to 95 percent humidity non-condensing. The 304 stainless steel body handles the humidity and cleaning chemicals typical of gym receptions and corporate lobbies. 316 grade stainless steel is available for pool-side or other corrosive environments.
Service & support
The internal diagnostic screen displays fault codes that identify the cause of any issue without requiring external tools on site. Spare parts stocked locally in each market we operate in. Maintenance agreements and technical support in Finnish, Swedish, English and Spanish available on request.
