GT-70 speed gate at EasyFit Vaasa — full-service installation with custom glass wall

EasyFit Vaasa: full-service gate installation that caught four misuse incidents in two weeks

EasyFit Vaasa already had an AI camera system in place to catch unauthorised entries, but it could not distinguish genuine misuse from members who simply walked in without checking in. Gatech installed a GT-70 speed gate, a custom-fit glass wall, full access control and all cabling in a single visit. Within two weeks the gym had identified and fined four misuse cases, and several groups without memberships turned around and left at the gate.

EasyFit Vaasa already had an AI camera system in place to detect unauthorised entries. Its limitation in gateless entrances is that some of the people it flags are actually members with valid access who simply did not check in — because the door was already open, they came in with a friend, or out of habit. The camera cannot tell these cases apart from genuine misuse, and EasyFit believed a physical gate would solve it. The number of confirmed misuse cases caught in the first weeks strongly suggests they were right.

Gatech delivered and installed everything needed in a single visit: a GT-70 speed gate in dark grey, a custom-fit glass wall alongside the gate sized to the entrance, the full access control system, and all cabling — with no separate electrician or other contractors for the customer to arrange. A GymPlus AI camera was installed at the gate to monitor entry and record video of any misuse event.

Within two weeks of installation, EasyFit had already identified four misuse cases and issued fines. The cases involved members letting friends in via the app and members physically helping someone through the gate on their own entry — both had likely been happening before, but were completely invisible until the gate made them visible. Several groups also arrived, saw the gate blocking their way in, and walked away without attempting entry, a clear signal they had no membership to begin with.

“Within two weeks of installing the gate we had already identified four misuse cases and issued fines. The cases involved members letting friends in through the app, or helping someone through the gate on their own entry. We knew the problem existed, but decided to act on it, and the gate has already shown promising signs of paying for itself.” — Joonas Saari, Owner, EasyFit Vaasa
