Mifare 1k Classic tags offer a reliable and cost-effective solution for access control and other RFID-based identification. This is by far the most commonly used chip type e.g. in gyms (over 90%).
The Mifare 1k Classic product was originally manufactured by NXP, but today there are many alternative manufacturers for the same product.
Gatech offers Classic products in the form of cards, key fobs, and wristbands. We can print and number them according to your specifications. We are able to supply even in small quantities across the entire European region (including the UK, Norway, and Switzerland), and in larger quantities anywhere in the world.

MIFARE 1K Classic tags are suitable for RFID-based identification in various environments such as gyms, companies, and secured facilities. These tags are compatible with many systems and can be easily programmed.
Memory
1KB of memory. This is sufficient for typical access control use and storing additional data. If you plan to combine the tag with, for example, facial recognition, we recommend checking the memory requirements in advance.
Compatibility
Works with most access control systems. Exceptions include systems that use proprietary encrypted keys. Gatech can help verify compatibility if needed.

Security
MIFARE Classic 1K uses low-level security, which means it can technically be cloned. The risk depends on the use case. More information is available on request.

Important NOTE!: Mifare 1K Classic tags are available in both 4-byte and 7-byte versions. This is crucial to check before purchasing tags, as tags with the wrong byte length may not work in your system. Gatech experts can assist in determining the correct byte length.
Mifare 1K Classic tags are by far the most commonly used tags in the gym sector. While they do have some weaknesses, such as being easily copyable, their price is significantly more affordable compared to higher security tags (such as DESFire tags). Therefore, it's important to carefully evaluate what the most economically suitable solution is for your gym.
